I have completed 10 hours of training and it will come as no surprise that my knee-walking is still terrible. However, I have been looking around, and it is generally not done that well by other people either! This makes me feel a little less incompetent. Perhaps it is just difficult?
I don’t know if there is a better translation out there, but “Shikko” is essentially Japanese knee-walking. I did read that it started because natural resources in Japan are scarce, and they build very-low-ceilinged houses (necessitating walking on knees to avoid bumping your head, you see) but this may be untrue.
